Jin Lab DEI Statement

Peng Jin Lab is open to all who pursue the highest ideals of intellectual engagement, critical inquiry, and authenticity. We welcome diversity across racial, ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, religious, national, and international backgrounds, as well as diverse sexual identities, orientations, abilities, and disabilities. We believe that the scholarly and social energies emerging from such diversity are essential to creating a better society that meets human needs. Jin Lab believes in the equality and inherent worth of all individuals, striving to provide an environment where every lab member can grow and realize their full potential.

Our actions:

1.  We respect diversity and create and maintain an inclusive environment. This means ensuring that all lab members feel a true sense of belonging to our lab.
2. We demonstrate kindness and patience when communicating with each other and collaborating with other researchers.
3. We accept, respect, and value constructive feedback from all lab members.
4. Our lab must be a welcoming environment for everyone. We will strive to make new members and outsiders feel welcome, especially by helping with sharing protocols and equipment.
5. We oppose racist and oppressive language and actions in our labs and at Emory University.
